This Kaiser locker is designed to be a fit and forgot axle locker.

This is probably one of the best axle diff locking systems you can get, as unlike a lockright diff locker, this Kaiser locker will operate as a normal open diff during normal driving and the moment traction is lost to one wheel the axle will lock up, in a silent and smooth operation that most drivers will never even know it’s happening.

The added benefit compared to an ARB diff locker is that no extra compressor or special parts are needed, you just fit your ring gear, and bolt back in the axle casing.

The Kaiser lockers works by not allowing any one wheel to spin faster than the differential ring gear, so if one wheel looses traction, this wheel will never go faster than the ring gear, hence the power will be transferred to the other wheel. All this is done in a silent and smooth operation.

In normal driving when both wheels have traction, when turning, one wheel will always be going slower than the ring gear so in this situation the wheel is allowed to go slower so the locker acts as a normal open differential.

The Kaiser lockers come in the following combinations

  • Front 22 spline halfshaft end for 1998 to 2003 8 bolt ring gear
  • Front 22 spline halfshaft end for 2003 onwards 10 bolt ring gear
  • Front 26 spline halfshaft end for 1998 to 2003 8 bolt ring gear
  • Front 26 spline halfshaft end for 2003 onwards 10 bolt ring gear
  • Rear 26 spline locker fits all models and years

The 22 spline front are for use with standard jimny halfshafts, 26 spline front are for use with the Trail gear HD 26 spline CV kits

Please Note - The lockers are mainly designed for heavy use and off road work, where there is a 100% need for traction. They will work in a general on road enviroment but under light usage and coasting while turning sharply you will still get the same noises and clicking that you get from a lockright

This will take you places that you have only ever dreamed of, but, there is a big trade off, especially in a manual Jimny.

These are designed to operate with slack, so there will always be a small thud as you take off, take it easy in the clutch and you will be fine.

You will need to modify your driving style on the road, any on/off throttle in corners and the slack will make the unit think it is losing traction and lock the diff, with a loud bang when it releases, the first time this happened to me was at 80km/h on a freeway on ramp, it scared the beejesus out of me, and the car will lurch.

your Jimmy is just a trail weapon, these will serve you well, if it's a daily driver, I'd recommend either going for the LSD, or save for the airlocker.

FWIW, I am taking it out after 6000km, and replacing it with an air locker.
