Suzuki Vitara 1.9 TD (1996–1998 European models) – 3-door and 5-door variants equipped from factory with the 1.9L turbodiesel engine (Peugeot XUD9). This part was used in the Santana-built Vitara “commercial” diesel versions, which featured a 1.9TD engine (~75 PS output) and 5-speed manual transmission. It is the direct replacement housing for these models’ gearboxes.

Suzuki Vitara 1.9 TD Intercooler (late 1998–2000) – later versions of the Vitara diesel (with intercooler) also use this same housing design. Suzuki’s parts catalog shows part 21341-86CB0 as an updated number for the turbo-intercooled Vitara diesel, which superseded 86CA0. (Functionally, 21341-86CA0 and 21341-86CB0 refer to the same clutch housing fitment.)

Engine Compatibility: Designed for the 1.9L Turbo Diesel engine, Peugeot/Citroën XUD9 series (also known by Suzuki code “DHW” in these models) This includes the XUD9SD and XUD9TE engines used in Suzuki Vitara diesels (with or without intercooler). The bell housing matches the XUD9 engine’s bolt pattern on one side and the Suzuki transmission on the other side.
Note: This part will NOT fit gasoline/petrol engines or their transmissions. It is only compatible with the diesel engine block pattern. It was not used in North American Sidekick/Tracker models (which had no diesel option); however, it can be utilized in custom swaps to mate a 1.9L diesel to a Suzuki Sidekick/Geo Tracker or Samurai by using the appropriate Suzuki transmission. Many builders choose this genuine housing to avoid custom fabrication when converting Samurai or Vitara 4x4s to diesel. (If converting a Samurai SJ413, note that the Samurai’s factory 1.9D used a different housing P/N 21341-84CA0, so installing this Vitara housing may also require using a Vitara/Sidekick transmission for proper fit.)
